In these screenshots Penelope Cruz plays some sort of hot lesbian librarian in her brother Eduardo Cruz’s new music video “Cosas Que Contar.” And who’s that woman Penelope is kissing, you ask? Maybe it’s, oh I dunno, her sister Monica. The idea was cooked up by Eduardo who wanted to generate some controversial publicity, according to FOX News:

“I don’t think it was a wise move for Penelope, as she has always been considered a very classy actress and it wasn’t like she was doing this for a ground-breaking film,” said Adam Weiss, CEO of Weiss PR in New York City (who does not represent Cruz). “But then again, nothing in Hollywood is surprising. People have done worse things and become much more famous as a result.”

Wow, I can honestly say that the last two people I’d want making out in my music video would be my sisters. Unless, of course, I never wanted an erection ever again. Then, yeah, this is exactly the route I would take.

After the smoke has cleared, Officer Ana Aguirre provided details of the incident at Britney Spears’ home. Most notably police believe the children were not in danger. The Associated Press reports:

“There was a time where she was within the residence and wasn′t available to be speaking to the officers, apparently,” she said. “There was no threat to the children.”
“Police resolved the conflict,” Aguirre said. “Both children were turned over to her ex-husband Kevin Federline for custody, and she was in fact taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.”

The police are also confirming that Britney Spears was not on drugs and will not face charges:

Early police reports said officers thought Spears might have been under the influence of some substance but Aguirre said there was no evidence of that.
“Our understanding is that was not the case,” she said.
Officers at the scene determined that paramedics “needed to be called″ but it was unclear why, she said.
“We’re not aware of any type of injuries that she sustained” and she was not combative with authorities, Aguirre said.
Spears wasn’t arrested in connection with the custody dispute, Aguirre said.
“There was no actual crime that was involved,” the police spokeswoman said.

Pamela Anderson is moving ahead with her divorce despite reports that she reconciled with Rick Salomon. Pamela had Rick personally served with divorce papers on December 28, according to Us Magazine. She also wrote the following in her blog on New Year’s Eve:

“2007 was an interesting year for me. What’s the definition of insanity? This is the year I do everything I wanted to do – my way… I’m going to be proud of every single day – and make sure I do not veer from the path.”

Kim Kardashian and her friends are creating rumors that Kim is engaged to generate publicity. Apparently Kim picked up a few tricks when she used to hang out with Paris Hilton, according to Page Six:

“Kim is trying to create attention in her life because nothing else is really going on with her,” said our source. “The whole debate over her engagement is buzz, and that’s what she wants. She’s not engaged, but her friends are telling all their celeb weekly contacts that she is.”

Kim also tried to get some press a few months ago by saying $50,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from her bag at the airport. However she never filed a police report and the authorities informed the media it was all a publicity stunt. Next thing you know we’re going to find out her ass is fake and she wears a prosthetic for the camera. God, that would suck. It’d be like when I was a kid and found out Santa Claus wasn’t real. Except I’d probably cry more and, this time, a bike won’t stop the tears. Unless it’s the kind with a squirt gun on the handlebar. Those are sweet!

Britney Spears meltdown last night will obviously cause permanent damage in her custody battle with Kevin Federline. Former prosecutor Susan Filan, and MSNBC’s senior legal analyst, says that Britney’s refusal to turn over her children to police was “a very serious no-no in the world of courts.” People reports:

As for the standoff that ensued, as well as, it has been assumed, arguments in front of the children by the parents, Filan said the courts are also likely to take a very dim view. She also said that this could pave the way for Federline to be in charge of determining all future decisions involving the boys.

Britney Spears’ blood test allegedly came back negative for substance abuse which police initially believed was the cause of Britney’s behavior. Life & Style reports:

“Her blood test just came back, and, thank God, it was clean. There are no traces of drugs or alcohol of any kind,” a source close to the Spears family tells Life & Style.

This information jives with a comment TMZ made earlier today:

We’ve been reporting for several months now that Britney doesn’t have a drug or alcohol problem — that her instability is mental, not chemical. Well placed sources tell us what happened last night is not rooted in drugs, and that of late, her mental state has deteriorated to the point that what happened at her home was not unexpected.

Britney Spears’ custody standoff may be defined as a hostage situation that could result in her arrest. Officers rode in the ambulance with Britney which means she is technically in police custody. The seriousness of the matter involves the time she was alone with Jayden in the house. He was taken to the ER by the police and released a few hours ago to Kevin. Here’s OK! Magazine’s rundown of the events:

At some point, 2-year-old Sean Preston is removed from the house, leaving only little Jayden inside with his mother.

8 p.m.: The police are notified of a custodial situation at Britney’s house and officers are dispatched to The Summit. But when they arrive, they find that the court-appointed monitor, who has been locked out of the house, is not in possession of the paperwork required to allow them to enter Britney’s house.
